Kevin
graduated in law from London
University in 1973, and after working in
the civil service for a short time and
travelling in Europe, was admitted as a
solicitor in June 1981. Initially
working for a London practice which
specialised in intellectual property and
non-contentious matters he moved to a
local firm in order to pursue his
interests in publicly funded work and
contentious matters. He was a partner
for some 16 years in his last firm
before leaving to start his current
practice with Paul Booty.
He is
a duty solicitor, both court and police
station. He has practised exclusively
in criminal law and mental health law
for the last 10 years and represents
clients both in the criminal courts and
Mental Health Review Tribunals.
He
deals with all criminal matters from the
least serious to the most serious; he
has had care and conduct of no less than
six murder cases, and acted for the so
called Soham policemen. He is a high
court advocate, a member of the Law
Society mental health panel, sits as one
of the assistant deputy coroner's for
Greater Suffolk, is a part time
President of the Mental Health Review
Tribunal, and a Deputy District Chairman
of the Appeals Service.
