I was born was into the family of Retired Captain and Mrs Adegoke, originally from Nigeria. I am the last girl and fifth child in a family of six. Coming from a vast family, there was always an opportunity for a story or two. I grew up with many stories, rhymes and hymns and got a lot of inspiration from my father and brother who are both song writers and composers however writing is my forte and at a very young age, I started to explore it and was entered into various writing competitions for my school.
I started to write articles when I was 14 and became quite prolific at it when I went to the university to study for a law degree. I learnt to write accurately and to play with words to sooth any situation. All my work was saved and I never got the opportunity to show or display my talent until 2004 when I was asked to write a piece for International Enterprise (A magazine based in Nigeria, my home country). This proved to be a challenge but also a success and I was given the opportunity to cover interviews on their behalf etc. Whilst writing, I still pursued my ambition and went on to study law at the London Metropolitan University. I took a year out and worked for Angel Islington Ltd; I then went on to law school for a year.
Another door was opened for me when a friend came across my work and encouraged me to write a bi-monthly article for their magazine. I entitled it ‘Let’s face it’. I have been doing this for almost two years now and it is very rewarding and a great achievement for me.
My style of writing is very different. I write well when I am in a mood (It’s strange, I know!) because it helps me to Channel all my creativity into the piece. Some might say that I write like a very bitter woman but the aim of all my articles is to face the realities of being in a relationship.
I do quite a lot of freelance work and I have been privileged to write a piece for Josh Tosh of Sound Module Productions and cover various events for Angel Islington Online. My last article titled Love was published in May 2006.
